About this skill
Fantasy Movie Poster is a design skill for films that exist only as an idea. Give it a short story brief, a few genre words, some stills or a storyboard, and it designs a vertical 9:16 Chinese-language cinematic poster — the kind you would see in a cinema lobby or on a streaming service’s title card.
What distinguishes it from simply asking an image model for “a movie poster” is the order of work. The skill behaves like a small poster studio. First it establishes a visual motif, drawn from the genre and the central conflict of the story: a literary drama might hinge on water and reflection, a thriller on a single ominous object. Then it generates the background artwork with no text in it at all. The Chinese title and the rest of the typography are designed as a separate layer, and only then are the two composited into the finished poster.
Separating image and lettering has practical benefits. Image models are still unreliable with Chinese characters, so keeping the title out of the generation step keeps it legible and correctly written. It also means you can change the title, the tagline or the credits without regenerating the artwork, and you can try several title treatments over the same image. The skill supplies the design judgement, the prompts and the execution plan; the pictures themselves come from whichever image tool your environment provides.
It also has a sense of honesty about posters. It will not invent awards, festival laurels or quotes from critics, which are easy to fake and misleading when they are.
