AI Poster & Graphic Design Prompts
Poster prompts are where AI image models show off typography and layout. This collection covers movie one-sheets, retro travel posters, album covers, magazine covers, editorial spreads and type-driven art — each with its full prompt attached.
Modern models like GPT Image 2 and Nano Banana Pro can render real, legible text inside the artwork, so these prompts specify headline copy, type style and grid placement directly. Swap the title and subtitle for your own and keep the rest.
Use them for event flyers, product launch visuals, social announcements or wall art — the layout language in each prompt (composition, hierarchy, palette) is the reusable part.
A poster prompt that keeps the layout under control
Describe the design system, not only the subject. A reliable poster prompt separates the hero image from the typography and grid.
- Format and crop: portrait poster, square cover, landscape billboard, or social graphic.
- Hero subject: athlete, destination, product, character, or abstract visual.
- Typography: quote the exact short headline and name its position, scale, and style.
- Layout: specify margins, grid, negative space, hierarchy, and supporting information.
Football, editorial, and typography directions
For football poster prompts, combine a clear player pose with team colors, match details, and an editorial headline. For typography-led posters, reduce the number of visual elements and make the type treatment the main subject. The examples below show both approaches through public creator results paired with shared prompts.
Frequently asked questions
- Can AI image models render readable text on posters?
- Yes — GPT Image 2 and Nano Banana Pro handle short headline text reliably when the prompt quotes the exact wording (e.g. title reading "SUMMER NIGHTS"). Long paragraphs still come out garbled; keep on-image text short.
- How do I get a specific poster style, like retro travel or Swiss design?
- Name the tradition and its trademarks, the way these prompts do: "1960s travel poster, flat colors, screen-print texture" or "Swiss International Style, strict grid, Helvetica-like type, red and black". Referencing the design language works better than naming artists.
- What aspect ratio should poster prompts use?
- Vertical 2:3 or 3:4 for classic posters and phone wallpapers; 4:5 for social feeds. Most prompts here specify the ratio inline, and you can change it without affecting the style.
