Image Ratio Recommender

Choose the job an image must do—feed portrait, story, avatar, wallpaper, poster or product listing—and get a conventional starting ratio, canvas and safe-area note. Use the recommendation to write a clearer prompt, then verify the destination platform’s current crop, bleed and upload rules.

Recommended ratio

4:5

Starting canvas

1080 × 1350

Safe-area note

Keep the face and product inside the central 80%; leave the top and bottom quiet for UI crops.

The calculator maps a use case to a conventional starting ratio and canvas. It does not know a platform’s current crop, bleed, compression or upload limit; verify those requirements before export.

Method

The calculator maps a small set of common use cases to a ratio and starting pixel canvas. It also describes where to leave quiet space for controls, icons or final type. The mapping is an editorial starting point, not a live platform specification, so the output is intentionally easy to inspect and override.

Limitations

Platforms change crops, safe areas, compression and maximum dimensions. Print work also needs bleed, trim and colour management. This tool does not render or inspect your image, and a ratio alone cannot fix subject placement or typography. Check the real upload destination before publishing.
