I put Seedream 5.0 Pro and Muse Image against GPT Image 2 and Nano Banana Pro in a character transfer test.

Can they take a character from one world and make him belong in another?

This is closer to my actual workflow. I build the visual language in Midjourney or Krea, then use an editing model to reshape the shot.

I took one character from an existing project set in a fictional medieval world and dropped him into 3 deliberately unrelated Midjourney stills.

Same character reference. Same prompt.

GPT Image 2 was the strongest overall. It was the most precise, retained the likeness best and matched the lighting of each shot most convincingly.

Nano Banana Pro came close, but it often reinterpreted the original pose or action. Strong results, but less predictable when the edit needs to stay faithful to the source.

Seedream 5.0 Pro integrated him well. Muse Image was the surprise. I’m genuinely impressed by how comfortably it handled this kind of work.

Muse and Seedream now feel like real options for that second stage of the workflow.
